Why not convert an old yarn cone into a container for nesting material? Just stuff it full of wool (there’s plenty out there on the barbed wire fences) and hang it from a tree! You can put shredded paper, bits of yarn, feathers and other cosy items in there too, just make sure not to use any synthetic or plastic-based yarn.
