About Scrappies

Supporting Creative Arts and Children’s Education with a Store, Recycled Resources, Workshops, Craft Clubs and Parties

Scrappies is a charity that collects and sells recycled and end-of-line items, donated by businesses and the public, primarily for use in creative arts and education.

Our store in Church Stretton is run by a small dedicated team of staff and volunteers and is open to everyone. Our outreach programmes bring innovative creative workshops to the community. Our professional practitioners cater to all age-groups and skill levels.

More and more people are realising that creative work, including art and craft, is vital to children’s development and is also beneficial to everyone’s health and well-being. We collect recycled materials for re-use in art, craft, home decorating and other similar projects. This keeps them out of the landfill so it benefits the environment too. The materials we collect are sold to the public and our members at a very low cost.

In turn, profits from sales are used to run the charity and organise craft clubs, workshops and other outreach programs for adults and children. Our aim is to operate sustainably, encourage the creative use of what we already possess, and educate people about environmentally friendly strategies.
